They are treated with a water-resistant coating and come with built-in snow gaiters and a ventilation zipper enabling you to self-regulate air flow when you are at the head of the pack and breaking trail through the deep pack. The waist is adjustable in case you want to tuck in a bunch of layers on a cold day.
